Would anyone have a few pictures of what an action starts out like before all of the grinding and milling takes place. I would imagine it would just look like a couple pieces of metal. One for the receiver one for the bolt. Just can not remember seeing what one looks like

A local gunsmith to me is building his own actions. I saw one the other day that was a 8x3x3 piece of solid steel that had the raceways milled/grounded out. From there his machine will mill the outer dimensions, ejeciton port, loading port, etc. Pretty cool stuff.

These are the sort of pictures that I am looking for.I just wanted to show my young nephew who is very interested in rifles. I am getting ready to have another rifle and I wanted show/have pictures from start to finish but this build like others the action is already built.
