can you use the remington 700 action from a 7mm ultra mag to build a 300 mag or a 300 ultra mag?

yes. slight difference in bolt head dia. going to 300 mag.

300 RUM would be same as 7 RUM for bolt head dia. could also jump to 338 EDGE off the rum action with same bolt

all i read says the 7mm ultra has .400 freebore causing premature throat erosion and only about 1000 rounds a barell the 300 ultra has no readings that say such but it does say that a 300 ultra requires a 6 groove barell i have a kreiger 5r with 1-10" twist in heavy palma think this barell would work for the 300 ultra ??
