Sloppy fit between buffer tube and adjustable stock. There is some wobble. Not bad, but enough to bug me. Becomes more of an issue when getting prone for longer precision shots. Both are milspec if that matters.

Other than buying a new stock, is there a cheap / DIY fix to snug it up?

Thanks in advance.

You don’t say what stock but basic answer is no unless you bond or pin it. There are two diameters of buffer tubes. If your set up did not come as a unit you could have a mid matched set??
more details?

Plastic shim.
Pull the adj back, insert shim, push forward to the click you desire.
NO WOBBLE
Takes 2 hands, and a foot to adjust :)

I used a shim cut from the plastic tubes for fluorescent bulbs but cut from a 2-liter bottle or milk jug would work. It doesn't see heat and after a few hundred times sliding the stock it might need to be replaced.
The position of the shim, see attachment, eliminates twist wobble.

No, they didn't come as a set. Just a hodge-podge of leftover stuff i decided to slap together.

I thought of tape, but think the South GA heat in summer might turn shit gummy. Might work though. Stock will get lots of adjusting between my son, myself, and the Tetris game i play fitting it in my safe.

I tried tape, steel shim stock but the plastic shim just worked like a champ for me.
You can make it as tight as you want by selecting the right thickness.
It can be removed and replaced at will.
By fitting into the corner of the adjustment rail it adds both diameter to the tube and width to the rail to stop wobble in left/right, up/down and in twist,

Thanks all. Some layers of tape snugged things up for a short term fix. Further research found that the stock works with Milspec AND Commercial, but the tube is Milspec, so me thinks thats the problem. I also had the two reversed in my head. I'll get a Commercial tube and go from there.
