I'm probably going to be ordering a manners stock for my new savage soon and I'm not sure if I want to get a t4 or a t4a.

I'd like to have an adjustable cheek rest but im not sure if it's entirely necessary. Right now I just use an elastic ammo holder with foam underneath but it is a little too low still.

I could get a karstens cheek rest but I don't trust myself at all with installing it so it would proably be getting closer to the added cost of the t4a if I had a gun smith install it.

So what do you guys think? go straight for the t4a, or get stock pack and if needed a karstens cheek rest?

Re: adjustable cheek rest..

It really depends on the height of your optics and your cheek placement.

In my opinion, it is better if you able to use a nonadjustable stock because of less moving parts to malfunction, lighter weight, etc...just not as tactical cool as using an adjustable cheekpiece. If you can't get by with a stock pack, and NEED the height of an adjustable cheekpiece than go with T4a.

What optics you are going to use?

When my manners gets here you're welcome to my stock pack if you decide to go t4 not t4a.
