My current rig is ADL and I like it and will more than likely go with it on the rig I'm planning now, but wanted to hear a few opinions either way. Pros-Cons? Thanks for the info.
I'm no fan of ADL ether. Just the fact of having to cycle the bolt to unload the firearm is a pain in the rear. Depending on what your doing with the rifle, It could be a hinderance
Depends on the goal, if quick reloads are needed, like in a match, you may not want it. I like my hunting rifle to be in adl configuration though, keep things simple.
All the precision rifles were ADL's until the tactical thing got popular. Benchrest guys used to use the front guard screw to "tune" a rifle during matches. Own 3 to 4 of each model and shoot them all.
If single loading the ADL is great, I just like the BDL because I have jammed and double loaded more than once and it is a pain trying to dig the rounds out from the top.
The way I see it is a BDL is just an ADL that can be cleaned and unloaded easily. Sure ADL is 'simpler' but how complicated is a hinge? Not like you're going to forget the hinge on the way out the door!
Better to have it and not need it...
