Does anyone have experience with the American Defense Manufacturing Recon and Scout scope mounts? Besides the obvious (vertical vs horizontal ring split) what is the differnce between the two?

What are the advantages/disadvantages to a vertical vs a horizontal split ring?

Has anyone had good or bad experience with the product or the company?

I am looking to replace a LaRue Tactical SPR / M4 Scope Mount QD LT-104 with one that does not "wear" on the pic rail like the LaRue "might". I will be swapping scopes (NightForce NXS) between rifles and anticipate switching a number of times before I can afford a second scope.

Are there other similar mounts available out there? I really like my LaRue just looking to expand my horizons a bit.

Re: ADM Scope Mount Questions

I have the recon mount on my LWRC DMR rifle and love it. repeatable to within an inch or two at 100 yards time after time. Best part is no wear marks on the rail. I have a larue bipod mount and it does a number on the rail... I would buy another ADM mount if I wanted another quick release scope on a rifle.

Re: ADM Scope Mount Questions

I have the ADM AD-170-S mount for my Atlas V8. Works like a charm, very solid and I like the way it has a secondary release to prevent accidental release of the lever. No damage to my KAC rail either.

Can't comment much on the company other than they shipped the mount out the next day, which is good enough for me.

Re: ADM Scope Mount Questions

Got the ADM with my 3rd atlas v8. I like it much better than the Larue LT171. So easy on/off and to adjust, yet solid on the rail. Kasey made a wise decision to go with ADM.

Liberty Optics carries AD, as does SWFA (I think).
