Can you expand on "RRS (not neccesarily the best choice)"?
Considering one in the future, even though I dont do PRS comp.
if you are going the buy once, try once route, RRS has tripod heads (leveling head or ball heads) that are made to withstand the weight and recoil and they have arca quick clamps already (also compatible with picatinny).
Pretty hard to beat the RRS ANVIL-30. Leofoto/Vortex Radian/RRS ball head with panning feature can be pretty useful for spotting/tracking but isn’t quite as stable for shooting off of. A leveling base is a tad more stable but lacks the range of motion if you shoot in hilly country or from towers/etc. Quick disconnect instead of knob is pretty handy although not an essential
being a master of rationalization, i went RRS because when i die, somebody will inherit something that they may want to keep, or can sell for a decent price, while the others, while perfectly serviceable, would be more likely to be sold for next to nothing at a yard sale.
besides, i am always looking for excuses, and i don't need something else that is easy to blame because some vastly more experienced shooters have said there is a measurable difference. ftr, i can shoot as good or better groups from the tripod than i can from a bipod and bag, so maybe that is an indication to ignore anything i say.

I used a RRS leveling base on a Shadowtech Piglite Tripod, as I felt the high quality base was the better place for money than the tripod. Not that the tripod is bad, just medium grade. Also, made in Thailand, which isn't China. That is inordinately important to me nowadays. True that the leveling base doesn't give the range of motion the ballhead does, but I found I can compensate for some of that by lowering a leg, which is really simple with that style tripod.

The two vets QDT is also literally gigantic. I couldn’t stand how big the legs are and how you have to make sure you fold it evenly to get the legs not to cross like this

Innorel rt90 is supposedly the same as a 2 vets no name I believe? Anyways mine has treated me well. I got an anvil adapter from @midwestoffroad and it works well. The tripod is just heavy. I’m hoping to upgrade to a rrs though.
I just purchased the Vortex Radian on here used with the ball head that is arca compatible for $600 , new they cost $800, i’ve never owned a serious Tripod like this before and I think this is all I will ever need, it’ll work for my new binocular‘s I have and it’ll hold my 26 pound gun no problem, And the best thing about vortex I can throw it out my truck window and they would give me a new one
The 2 Vets use a 75mm base the Inorell RT90 is 100.
I have Both the RT90 and the 2 Vets QDT. . With PRS shooting I prefer the simplicity of 1 leg lock of the QDT.

Any one out there tried Removing the vortex radian ball head and using a rrs anvil 30. Are they compatible in this way?
