Spotters Advice Needed: Vortex Razor Gen 2 vs Leupold SX-4 Pro Guide HD 2

I am about to purchase a spotter and need some quick last minute advice. I am torn between the following:

  • Vortex Razor HD (Gen 2) 22-48 x65 or 13-39x56 -- both straight, not angled
  • Leupold SX-4 Pro Guide HD (Gen2) 15-45x65 or 20-60x85 -- both straight, not angled
Primary use is glassing for competitions (long days on the glass) and then some long range observation. Yes I know, a good pair of binos will do, but I'm looking for that high mag power.

Inputs on glass quality and use with a tripod. Need a taller tripod, recomendaions on tripos welcomed.

I haven't gotten to play with the Leupold, but i am a fan of the Vortex. I like the helical focus and I find the glass to be good. I've spend a lot of time behind the Razor 27-60x85, so same glass different objective. for tripods I like manfrotto, but the Vortex carbon tripods have been nice if you'd like to keep it in the brand family.
