Re: Advice on next scope......
Ok, still a little vague but here's a basic rundown on the two scopes.
The ST-10 has the advantages of being more configurable to suit individual needs with turrets, reticles, and parallax adjustment. The reticle selection is better with the ST-10 compared to the S&B and it has parallax adjustment which may be important at longer distances. The disadvantage that I'd give to the ST-10 is that if you go with the EREK it's been known to confuse some shooters when initialling setting it up. Other than that the ST-10 that I used for a competition was more than capable of the task and I had no issues hitting out to 1250. While I was using it though I didn't really find the optical quality or overal fit and finish to blow me away. I thought the feel of the clicks was comparable to my NF as was the image quality. The adjustments were repeatable though and over the course of a comp dialing up and down it returned to zero prefectly on the last day
When it comes to the S&B of course the advantages are the exceptional optical qualities of the scope, the durability, and repeatability of the adjustments. The turrets are a little easier to reset and zero than the EREK knob in my opinion while still allowing for a lot of adjustmnet in a single turn. This can be helpful if you're switching scopes between multiple rifles. The feel of the clicks are also better than the USO IMO, each one is a definite, audible and tactile click. The scope is only available with a basic mildot reticle though so there aren't as many options there compared to the USO. The parallax is also fixed at 300, but that usually isn't so much of a problem in an optic with a 10X magnification and below.
Hope that helps a little and good luck with your purchase.
