Hi. I'm looking into adding a S&B PM II 5-25x56 to an AI AX in 6.5 CM with a Spuhr mount. I've done some research and calculations but would appreciate some advice/opinions on which mount variant to purchase (feel free to vote in the poll).
The rifle rail is 20 MOA (5.8 mils).
The scope total elevation adjustment is 26.9 mils.
I've calculated the following for three Spuhr mount variants, with 0 mils (flat), 3 mils and 6 mils.
I'd like to ensure I can push out to the maximum range of 6.5 CM. A quick online ballistic calculation (http://www.shooterscalculator.com/ballistic-trajectory-chart.php?t=0ccfcb96) gives estimated drop out to a mile.
So, to guide choice of scope mount, advice/opinions sought on the mount.

- What range is reasonable to consider as a maximum? If 1400 yards (for example) a flat mount would be ok, but doesn't give much margin to dial up to reach further.
- If trying to reach out to a mile (if realistic with this calibre), a 6 mils mount could allow the full elevation to be dialled in, but leaves little down adjustment. Is this a legitimate concern?
- Would a 3 mils mount be about right? Enough maximum up adjustment to get out to 1600 yds with plenty of down adjustment if needed?
- Note: I generally prefer dialling elevation than holding over.
