Aero AR10 hand guard, what works?

I’m building an Aero M5 and have a Krieger 20” 308, M110 barrel on order. I’m kind of set on an Aero hand guard. Their Atlas series has an inside diameter of 1.3 while the Enhanced is 1.72. The barrel uses a .875” gas block.
I generally like light, slim hand guards but the fact is this rifle will mostly be used on the bench with a bipod.
So the question is, will both fit over the gas block with ample clearance? The M5 enhanced looks more robust and weights 3-4 OZ more then the Atlas so it might be better for this build. What’s your thoughts on this?

What are the dimensions of the gas block? That should be all you need to answer your question.

Either one would fit over the gas block assuming it’s a standard low pro. Though the diameter may say 1.3” on the Atlas, there will be room at the 12 o’clock. I.E. on my SLR (DPMS low profile), I have ~.3” over diameter of clearance.

My vote goes to enhanced. Once I saw the Atlas in person, I did not like its size and shape, I thought it looked strange. The enhanced is definitely larger around, but does not affect grip. I also have the quantum, which is decent, but I like the continuous rail that the enhanced has.

I vote enhanced as well. I’ve got a set of their receivers and the enhanced handguard and am extremely impressed with the quality for the money.

IMO Aero can’t be beat for the price. They do a lot of sales too.
