Just wondering if any of you have experience with these. Is it worth getting an aftermarket firing pin assembly? If so, which ones do you guys recommend? Just looking to upgrade some rifles and wondering if this would be worth it. Thanks in advance for your replies.

If bolt gun, then Tubbs Speedlock pins are good. I use them and never had a problem with them. I would get the full drop in assembly instead of just the pin. The cocking piece on the Speedlock assy. is precision ground and hardened so it will <span style="text-decoration: line-through">improve your trigger pull</span> It will make your trigger pull more consistent I should say.

I have the Gre-Tan lite firing pin assembly in my 700. Noticeable improvement over the the stock POS j-lock. You can actually hear the difference in lock time between the two.

Yes Put a Complete Tubbs Assembly in.
It will give you less time to screw up your aim once you pull the trigger because of the faster lock time.

like everything else...the firing pin is useless until the up-grade of the spring....its a tool for a very specific reason....the whole lash-up will only gain the shooter in certian shooting positions....so just to throw money at a non-exsisting need is.......kinda sorta ignorant....

Just to make sure I understand, let's say the Tubb Speedlock firing pin assembly would be the most beneficial in shooting positions that are less stable, thus requiring a quicker time between when the trigger releases and when the firing pin strikes the primer. Does that sounds about right? For example, shooting prone with the rifle well-supported, there would potentially be less benefit than shooting standing with a sling, right? I have yet to see anyone anywhere show with any certainty that an aftermarket firing pin assembly, Tubbs or any other, had any measurable benefit.
I have seen these aftermarket pin assemblies cause issues in a stock factory rifle that were not beneficial to the function of said rifle.

Firing pin cocking pieces not fitting properly in the guide slot in the action. Too much slop, or to tight in that slot and the cocking piece galling against the action and the aluminum shroud during bolt cocking. Slop in the factory receiver and the heavier springs leading to heavy bolt lift during cocking, again galling on the tip of the cocking piece and the bolt cocking cam. These are just a few of the things that will lead to issues involving the aftermarket pin assemblies.
In a field rifle and or tactical rifle I just haven't seen, or as anyone shown with any clarity the benefit of the aftermarket assemblies over the factory Remington.

I use a PTG firing pin and cocking piece with a Tubbs spring, the unit works flawlessly and i have no problems with it.
