Wow....Blowed the dust off of that one...I was only 4yrs old then but do remember some roller skating to it.(prolly 7-10 yrs later) I never could skate backwards too good tho..

I think I'm gonna throw my sons 3rd birthday party at a roller rink...nothing like the disco ball, dimming the lights, and the announcement of, "couples only..couples only." Groovy. lol.

Shit...I didn't even have to play the vid...I can still repeat all the words to the damn thing/song...we were in grade school when this came out and the local radio station made sure the words were printed for everyone to learn....
Been many years since I have heard it aloud though.

Jurassic Park scared the hell out of me when I saw it in the theater. Course I was only like 3 or 4 at the time and didn't help that my older brother was an asshole about it.

Black Sabbath was "Heavy Metal"
The Who did it's "last" final tour and the Clash opened for them,
John Bongiovani was the lead singer of my high school prom band,

Thanks Net for the bringing back of some really old memories! Skating at Aloha Skate and hearing that played....a long time ago. I guess I am old after reading some of the other posts on here.

I remember that and Double Dutch Bus, and Electric Avenue being played to death at the skating rink, and then.....the 80's music began to really suck. The funk was great like Super Freak and Let it Whip but then about 1984 that knob gobbler came out with Like a Virgin...all down hill from there.

Cigarettes were 24¢ a pack when I was a little kid, and a penny came back inside the plastic wrapper from the quarter. Man, it's a wonder that those Pall Malls didn't put my old man in the ground from all the pennies I scrounged.

Bought many a coke and moon pie or apple turnover with a quarter and sold the bottle back for a nickle
One black and white tv channel until we ran ladder wire up on a ridge, then we had 3. Want to guess who got to turn the knobs to change the channel then. I was the first remote Mom and Dad had. Shotgun shells had paper hulls and 50 22 rounds were about 25 cents

Glad to see there are some "geezers" near my age.

I remember when gas was 22 cents a gallon
I remember being able to buy a hamburger, french fries and a root beer for 45 cents
I remember the hoola-hoop and what happened when they broke. I carry a scar under my left eye due to the sitter (who later became a cop and good friend) tried to take a broken section away from my little brother. I was standing behind him.
I remember when Sputnik was launched.
I was in Jr. High when JFK was shot.
I remember the Cuban missile crisis and my dad listening to the radio and thinking we were going to war.
I remember the air raid sirens when in school and practicing for a nuclear attack (talk about scaring the shit out of a 5th grader)
I remember when the pledge of allegiance and reading a bible verse started every day at school.

This list could go on but I am still not getting any younger. I also finished my second Jack 'n lemonade that I responded to in the other post and am seriously thinking about another.
