I just received my AO 308 in AX chassis. When they built the rifle they installed a part they custom build that allows the reliable use of a AI mag in the chassis. The issue I'm having is very hard feeding out if the mag. The rifle will not chamber rounds easily, I have to slam the bullet into the chamber. Doing so scratches the brass case to the point I can feel the scratch with my fingernail. It seems as if the front of the mag sits to low and the angle the bullet enters the chamber causes it to drag on the lips of the mag. I have read where some people open up the front of the mags but I'm hesitant to do that now. AO has shipped me a 5rd mag to try before we go any further, they said the 10rs mags can cause this issue from time to time. Has anyone else had issues with feeding from the mag, if so what was your solution? I'm just looking for ideas, prior to shipping the rifle back if the 5rd mag doesn't work.

I'm actually at the range waiting for a guy to get
His targets.

Here's a pic of my ai mags that go into my ax. It's a 10 rounder; no issues

Look closely at the mag at the top of the picture. The lips are bent back slightly from the shoulder of the round. The black colored mag on the bottom is the reference for what an unmodified mag looks like. It stays tight on the round all the way up to the shoulder. It doesn't take much. I bent it a little at a time and tested until it fed well. Let me know if this helps.

I had the same problems with two mags I bought for my AICS chassis. You could clearly see a difference between the mag that worked flawlessly and the two mags that had difficulty feeding cleanly. I bent the lips back to match the working mag and now they all feed flawlessly.
