Morning hiders,
I recently bought a AXMC 300WM, and I wanted to try the 338LM. So I bought the 338LM barrel from EuroOptic. Unfortunately, the barrel doesn't come with a factory brake.

I was wondering if I could take down the AI factory muzzle from 300WM bareel, and put it on the 338LM barrel since the thread pattern is the same M18x1.5

I also looked up the muzzle brake (SKU 25803-AI) on EuroOptic, the caliber is indicated as 30/.338 but I'm not sure if that muzzle brake is the same as the factory muzzle brake on the 300WM.

Do these two calibers share the same factory muzzle brake?

Please let me know if i could take down the factory muzzle brake from 300WM barrel and put it on the 338LM.

Thanks guys.

I own a lot of AI's and every factory brake I have (whether 308 or 338) are the exact same as far as bore diameter. They are suppose to be universal like that. You should be good to go, however, take a set of calibers to it and measure bore diameter first to be certain.

yeah, I emailed AI, and they confirmed its fine to switch them out between 308/338. Thanks a lot!

I tried, but the neck diameter is bigger than the actual bullet. That's why I wasn't sure.
