I can't speak for AI since I am not that familiar with how they operate. So I can't guess what they would think of the idea. The GRS stock is something I am currently looking at for by R8. The only thing I can really ding it on is it's not an ambi-configuration. Even the cheek-piece is side-favored. But...they are here in the US and ready to go out of the box. Christensen Arms has been making CF setups for Blasers for many years. And...there is a thread here on the forum from a company called Evil Empire that is doing VERY nice CF stocks for the R93 Blaser.
The Blaser is huge in Europe and much more popular outside of the United States. As such, there is a built-in market for such things over there.
The biggest issue with a chassis system from AI is, on a Blaser, what most people consider the stock is actually the action. So...one needs a donor receiver to build on. Hence...the GRS stock you have pictured above retails for about $2500. GRS worked out a deal with Blaser. They make the stock, send them to Blaser, Blaser beds or installs the "receiver" then sells them to their Blaser dealer.
Dude, I love the Blasers. I really do. And if AI would build a Chassis for them, they would sell. But....the end user would probably have to tear apart a donor rifle to get the receiver in it.
And considering that Blaser has told me they won't be doing their LRS / Tactical 2 stock configuration for the R8, it would have no competition. But they would have to concentrate on European sales with a small import-stream into the US. There are hundreds of thousands of these rifles overseas. In the US, I would have to guess. Maybe a few thousand. Maybe more. But 90% of those customers are hunters; not competitive / tactical shooters like found on here.
Below are pics of my Tactical 2 Blaser. Krylon'ed it. It's got much more wear on it now.
