Hello all,
I just picked up an 2014 AT with the large firing pin. The barrel is marked 7.62 and curious if anyone has had any issues in running factory or hand loads in 308 through a similar barrel? Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks!

I have a 2008 AW which was originally in 308 with a Lothar Walther factory barrel and I put 2000 rounds through the barrel with factory and handholds with no issues. I was shooting 7.62 Lake City 94 Match cases for my handholds with large rifle primers. I've then rebarreled to 6.5 CM and put about 1300 rounds through it with handholds and factory ammo, using Hornady factory and handholds with Hornady large rifle cases. Most of the pierced primer reports you hear about with the Accuracy International large firing pins were in calibers like 6.5x47 running Lapua small rifle primer cases.

That looks like the normal markings on an AI barrel. Aside from the cartridge designation I think the other markings have to do with proof testing.

If you're interested in finding a factory loaded round that is accurate in your rifle you'll need to buy some different loads and try them out. My AI-AT likes the Federal Gold Metal Match with the 168 gr bullet.
