AI AW monopod jammed

This may be user error and stupidity, but I watched a video showing how to operate the rear monopod on an AW and it seemed easy, but mine isn't working.

Essentially, when I pull on the sleeve, it doesn't budge and I can't get the monopod to deploy. Here's a few photos of the gun. What am I doing wrong?

Bump, I'm stumped.

I'm going off of memory here, but I think you should try to loosen the knurled ring a little then push in on the grey ring to deploy the spring loaded monopod.
