Hello,
I’ve been wanting to buy one for quite a while. Several AX models recently in the PX (low 5K’s), and Im wondering if the SR folks would say the juice is really with the squeeze to wait and save the extra funds for it?

I’m just an intermediate steel banger with the AI bug.

Appreciate the thoughts

But if you are going to stay with short action calibers (308, 6.5), then I would go AXSA and save the weight and the oversized magazine needed to shoot SA rounds out of a LA.

Buy your first, AX
Then buy your second, AXSR

If you plan to run magnum cartridges then get the AXSR right away. I bought an AT then AXMC eventually. I’m keeping both

I have the ax308 and axsr. If your going small frame then I don't think there is enough juice to squeeze. Do you like the grip? That's about the only thing I like on the axsr more.

I think these rifles will not be differentiated by accuracy. The AI-AX was designed to be extremely durable and reliable, and accuracy under constant abuse. It's easy to find 1/4th MOA rifles. It's not so easy to find ones that will still do that after being run over by a truck.

I was pretty much in the same boat when I got my AX. I don't really have consistent access to ranges that would stretch the legs of the LA calibers so for me there was no real point in getting an AXMC at the time just to shoot SA calibers. Eventually I'd like to add an AXSR to the lineup but I'm still a year or 2 away from being able to justify it with access to >1200yd ranges.

Because of the factory SFP of the AXSR?
Sorry not understanding what you’re asking?

AX and AXSR/AXMC both have SFP options. The AXSR/AXMC allows you to run both short and long action cartridges

I’m suggesting the OP save for the AXSR or AXMC if he wants to run those bigger cartridges. If he doesn’t the AX in short action can be had for much cheaper $$

Ahhh, I see, the problem was my reading comprehension lol. I was thinking AXMC not AX then wondering why the AXSR was recommended over the AXMC for magnums.
