OK, I am about to order a AX308. I want it in the DFE Folder. I shoot left handed, but prefer a Right hand rifle. I have been told the Right hand rifle is 100% AMBI with no issues.

I plan on target shooting 100-500 yards and hog hunting.

I am leaning towards a 20" barrel with a 0 MOA 16" rail.

Am I going in the right direction?

Thank you in advance, Mark

The AX rifles are pretty easy to operate ambidextrously, especially if you don't mind working with your support hand for some operation functions.

A 20" AX .308 is pretty sweet, but the only downside I would say is that they are a little heavy to drag around all day if you're hunting and the rifle is fully kitted out. Other than that, it's pretty hard to beat an AX.

As a side note, there are a few constraints on configuration that you'll find in the US. One being the AX short actions are standard with a 20 MOA rail (which is continuous across the entire top) and a 13" forend rail.

If I am shooting 100 - 600 yards at the longest would a 20 inch barrel be all I need?

I just think a longer barrel with a muzzle brake will look like a shotgun in length
