AIAW Question - run .308 out of a .300WM?

Off the wall question - how well would it work if one had a AIAW .300 Win Mag, got a .308 barrel for it and ran both?

Mag spacer? Not needed? Not possible to run .308 off of AI LA?

Not possible. In theory it would be nice. I asked Stacey about this. AI is not making any bolt face for 308 caliber that would fit the L/A of the AIAWSM action, at least not at this time.

you would have to have the bolt taken off an AIAT s/a bolt body as it has 6 locking lugs as the AWSM's. The bolt would have to be put on a L/A bolt body. Then you could switch barrels and fire .308 and .300WM fom teh same L/A. This still doesnt solve the problem of feeding from a magazine. Look up my posts to see what a bolt from an AIAT looks like.

RR is correct. The folks at AINA did this for my 338LM when they were located in Oak Ridge, TN. I still haven't figured out a reliable magazine system for it though.
