I haven't been able to find much about the BT28 "AFAR" setup and the advantages or disadvantages of using it with an Atlas instead of the BT19 Spigot most people seem to be running.

If anyone has run an Atlas both ways I would appreciate opinions or observations you have comparing the two.

Re: AICS and Atlas mounting options

I have just with a different type of rail set up underneath.

The benefit is, the further you put the bipod out towards the muzzle the more stable you will be, and if you take it too extremes, the technically more accurate you can get.

The spigot is the way to go... I like the ability to run the bipod out.

Re: AICS and Atlas mounting options

My v8 is mounted on a spigot as well. As previously stated it offers more stability as well as having the ability to quick disconnect.

Re: AICS and Atlas mounting options

I went with the spigot and the rail kit for it so I could use my Atlas on my LAR8, and AR15. the Atlas is being upgraded to a V8 atm. Kasey is good people.
