AICS AX and XLR Chassis comparison

I'm on the fence on the AICS AX and XLR for a short action Remington 700.
I know the features are very similar. It's why I picked them. I'm looking for pistol grip, folding, night optic capable.
I've tried the AX and like shooting it, but I have not shot the XLR.
I'm definitely getting a long action AICS AX because the weight doesn't bother me for a larger caliber.
But I'm looking for a lighter short action system, which the XLR will be about a pound and a half lighter than the AX.
So I'm torn between keeping my two systems both AXs for consistency or this system lighter with the XLR.

Can any one that's used the AX and XLR offer some comparisons on shooting with these chassis?

Other info:
The XLR is about a 2 month lead time, AX available now.
XLR $300 less when all is said and done.

The main thing about the AX that I like over the XLR that I had is the lower grip in front of the magwell. If the XLR had something like that I might have like it. The folder mech was the other thing I wasn't to hot on. But I had the gen 1 folder from ACE I hear Kyle has a better folding mech now

There is no latch on the XLR like on the AX to keep the stock folded and not bouncing around.
In my opinion, the latch is an important aspect of the folding mech. The AX latch is pretty basic, would like to see that improved by making it less obtrusive. But not having a latch makes it hard to consider a XLR folder. Just my opinion of course would like to hear others with a XLR folder.
