I have a 2012 AICS AX that has significant wobble in the buttstock. The wobble is between the stock extension and the chassis itself, not in the folding mechanism. Does anyone know how to disassemble these two pieces? I have already removed the two screws on top and bottom but they didn't seem to be holding anything in, and are also closer to the folding mechanism than chassis.

In the pictures below, its the extension (where the flush cups are mounted) and the chassis. Another picture shows where there appeared to be glue at some point.

Does anyone know how to take this apart so I can epoxy them back together?

I think all you need to do is remove the 2x flush cups and drive out the dowel pin; if the epoxy joint is already loose, at that point the buttstock portion should slide off the "stub" sticking out from the rear of the action block. If it doesn't slide off, use a heat gun and heat the joint to soften the epoxy. May have to give it a few taps with a non-marring rubber mallet or similar.

Reassemble with dev-con to bed the joint between the two pieces and you should be good to go.

Thanks.

I couldn’t get the screw for the flush cups out as it just rotated the opposite cup, but I didn’t try very hard either. Good to know it’s a dowel pin, I was wondering about that.

You may want to contact Mile high or AI directly to verify before you mess anything up, but I'm fairly certain both the flush cups and dowel pin have to come out to separate the buttstock... But I've been known to mess stuff up working off a hunch because I was too impatient to contact the manufacturer to verify before proceding, lol!
