The hinge assm. is held in by those screws, but the hardest part is that glue (like Devcon) holds the hinge blocks into the square tubes also.
Heat the tubes at the part you want to remove and the screws will come out easier, keep the heat going and use a soft mallet or block of wood and tap the stock. This will take a while as not to wreck anything.
Also when I say heat I mean a heat gun. A torch would just be to much.
