I'm a very tall guy, and I'm looking at the possibility of building a R700 based rifle in an AICS 2.0 stock. Through the standard LOP measuring methods, I'm finding that I'll likely need between 16-17" inches of LOP for the rifle.

I'm trying to determine the following data points:

a) What's the standard LOP for the AICS chassis without any of the spacers (but including the butt pad)?

b) How many spacers (and what size) come with the chassis in the box?

c) How many additional spacers will the bolts/hardware that comes with the chassis accommodate? Ie, am I going to have to find longer bolts?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: AICS Length of Pull Adjustability

Okay, that's good to know...I'd imagine I'll need to buy some new bolts, then. Can anyone chime in with the "standard" LOP on the chassis? Trying to determine how many spacers I'll need to purchase, and I'd like to order it all at the same time.

Re: AICS Length of Pull Adjustability

LOP w/o spacers is 12-7/16"
Both mine came with 3 spacers @ 13/32" each
9/16" of thread exposed with all 3 spacers in place. Really should have longer bolts if you are adding anymore spacers, the bolts thread into aluminum. Bolts are hex head metric, not sure on the size.

Not sure what you use for "standard LOP measuring methods", what works for me is different on different type of guns. On shotguns I like a longer LOP, on my hunting Sako 75 its what came on it and it works good, AICS I am at 2 or 3 spacers and on an M4 shorter. Big factor is how long of neck you have and whether you "stock crawl" or shoot head erect.

Re: AICS Length of Pull Adjustability

Thanks for the measurements. I haven't spent a whole lot of time shooting prone, but the rifles that I have shot in that position have all been too short, with the scope hovering much too close to my face.

I always seem to manage with shotguns and AR style rifles, but throwing a scope into the equation changes things.
