AICS Rigid vs. Folder

Re: AICS Rigid vs. Folder

All of the above!

I have a couple and they are solid as a rock. They fold and snap into place to keep them folded. In the extended position, they lock up tight with no wiggle/wobble or any form of instability.

Also, in terms of compact transport...I can get a LA Chassis with a 26" barrel into a 36" hard case with the stock folded.

GET THE FOLDER!!! You'll be glad you did.

Re: AICS Rigid vs. Folder

If you get the Fixed<rigid> stock youre going to wish you got the folder,if you get the folder youll wish you got the Fixed becuase you never fold it.Just get one of each.

Ain't that the truth...about everything. I suffer from this ALL the time.

Re: AICS Rigid vs. Folder

i don't fold mine to make it more compact, i fold it when i clean so i don't have to remove the cheek piece and butt pad. i would also get a folder on a long action so i didn't have to remove the cheek piece just to remove the bolt.

Re: AICS Rigid vs. Folder

I have a folder on my AW and would not want the rigid. One benefit that has not been mentioned is that you can move your sling to the sling mount just forward of the folding stock, fold the stock and sling it over your shoulder in a classic African Carry with muzzle down and no muzzle in the dirt or buttstock above your shoulder. You will need to remove your can if you have a 26" barrel and are not 7' tall.

AICS folder vs rigid.
My concern is that a folder is not as stable as the rigid stock.
I know the Army has gone with the folder lately.
WWyouD? </div></div>

I thought the same as you so originally I had a rigid one but now I have a folder, the folding mechanism has no play at all....very high quality so its just like a rigid one but obviously has the ability to fold.

Hope this helps

Re: AICS Rigid vs. Folder

get the 2.0 because it has "good quick re-sale" in case you decide the AICS is not for you .
AICS feel and handling along with the Grip & trigger group placement position, Some Love them & some don't care for them @ all after buying them and running them .
Get the 2.0 . If you decide 'it's the Stock for you', then there is no need to worry about moving-up from a 1.5 to the 2.0 model .
