AICS. VS Manners

Re: AICS. VS Manners

1. Find people in your area that have one or the other. (Ask in this thread)
2. Drive both of them
3. Decide which feels better

You are going to get a lot of people in this thread that like one or the other. That means jack for you. They are two very different systems and the probability you will like both is slim.

Re: AICS. VS Manners

I really don't think that is a good comparision - may be Manner's and McMillan but the AICS is very different in feel from a normal Manner's stock. I have had and have them both. I liked the AICS but it is heavy. I also would only get a 2.0 folder as it is easier to clean your bore. You can swing it to the side. You have to get behind one to know if you like the AICS as they are not for everyone. There is a left handed AICS for sale now:

Re: AICS. VS Manners

I've got a Manners T4, and love the ergonomics and light weight. I have a hard time getting used to the thumbhole on an AICS.
That said, I'm most likely going to be taking the plunge pretty soon on an AICS 2.0, simply because I want a folding stock for that rifle.

Re: AICS. VS Manners

They are two completely different styles of stocks. I agree that you need to try and get hands on these options to decide which work well for you.

In the end, what works well for one person may not work well for another. My preference is with Manners, either the T4A or T5A.

With the addition of the Manners Mini Chassis both have the ability to drop in a barreled action and run with it.

I was considering an AI, then had opportunity to get behind one. Went with A5. A stock is a big investment to get the wrong one.

Re: AICS. VS Manners

Nope, just drop it in and torque it.Has it's own DBM...thats one of the things you need to look at also when you compare them.AICS is a complete system, whereas with any stock such as Manners (I have 2 love them) you need to factor in which DBM you will want.BTW I have Both Manners and AICS....prefer the looks of Manners and it's lighter but the AICS is also very nice albeit heavy and very "business-like".

As Echo said, you just use drop in, the DBM is included in the chassis.

The Manners Mini chassis has a built in Badger M5, so again you drop in and go.
