This is classic:
"Beard's attorney said, “Mr. Beard has never had personal possession of a fully automatic firearm. At most he signed for them when they came in for city use in his official role.”

What? He had possession from 2016-2018 but not personal possession? But "HE" turned them into the PD? Not sure how he was going to be caught without a ATF audit. Been through ATF audits as FFL, but not sure there is any procedure for a PD audit. I know years ago a newly elected Corpus Christi Sheriff asked for an internal audit and found several HK full auto's missing but I don't think a AFT checks LE as a normal practice(?).

I know that an AR-15 is a semi-auto firearm and conceivably be turned into an fully auto firearm, but if a AR-15 style firearm is fully auto, isn't it then an M4??

Depending on the model it could even be an M-16.

However, facts are not particularly important with the media. If nothing else, they don't want to confuse the sheep.

Of course, they don't care if they scare the sheep. Have you ever seen a sheep stampede? I suspect you just need the lead one to be really scared and take off running - all the rest will follow without a concern for where they are goi . . . . . .

WAIT A MINUTE! I might be on to something.
