Hey Jay, those are some pretty good prices you have on the Sportoptics website. Do you have the m4S in stock

Re: Aimpoint comp m4

I looked at it, but I want 2 moa dot. I think the T1 only comes in a 4 moa dot.

Re: Aimpoint comp m4

I wish someone would have pointed out the price difference between a Trijicon ACOG and the Aimpoint CompM4S. Another 300 bucks and you could have the ACOG. Just food for thought.
My M4S has been dropped twice from a height of approx. 4 feet onto concrete. Shrugged it off like it never happened. Its a rugged optic, and the battery lasts forever.

You can't really use an Acog on the forward mount of the Socom 16.

I have both the ACOG and Aimpoint and I wouldn't compare the two as being the same type of optic.
One is a red dot and the other a reticle with BDC. I do like the BAC on the ACOG but its not as fast as the aimpoints 1x. The ACOG is built like nails and so is the aimpoint. The Aimpoint will lasts as long on one AA as the tritium will glow bright on the ACOG. An EMP will kill the aimpoint while the ACOG would still work, lol. If you need a 3x or 4x scope get the ACOG or if you want a CQ sight get the Aimpoint. Both are great optics. I used to be an eotech fan until the M4 came out. Get what works for you.

Good Point!

They are tough as nails and the battery life is insane!

Re: Aimpoint comp m4

I like mine. Good clarity. Great battery life. The only thing I don't like about aimpoints is the glow you get when you have them turned all the way up. I never really feel the need to have the dot that bright...just saying. I'm. Getting rid of mine if you want to pm me. Like new condition with acc. Getting rid of the rifle...so I don't neeed the optic. Mine isn't the "s" model though.

Re: Aimpoint comp m4

I had the aimpoint m3 on my socom and it worked very well. I am not familiar with the m4 and my main concern would be can you mount the m4 mount low enough?(I thought they were setup to go on a flat top ar which would put it up a little high on a socom for my liking.)

A 2moa m3 with low burris XTR ring is a hard to beat set up on the Socom.

It would be a no brainer if Aimpoint would make the T1 in a 2 moa model(like Vortex does in the SPARC!)

Yeah, I don't know why they don't make the T1 in a 2 moa version

They are made to fit a flat top but they have a spacer that can be removed to lower the optic. Easy five minutes and it is lower. I do like the 2 MOA on the M4.

Re: Aimpoint comp m4

2 moa dot,and they use double aa batteries, You guys got me thinking now!! I sure did like my m3, but for aa capability the m4 is looking like a good choice. I noticed there are several *M4* models, What are the major differences?

Re: Aimpoint comp m4

The m4s has the battery compartment on the bottom of the optic instead of the top.

if you mean what is the difference between compm, m2, ml2 and m4 etc. Mostly how new they are. Which translates into battery life for the most part. And the new models use aa batteries instead of the flat watch style batteries. They are all super tough though. You will be happy no matter which one you get.

There is only two "M4 Models" The other choices are with or without mount, lower or upper battery.
