Rifle Scopes aimpoint or eotech

Re: aimpoint or eotech

For actual door kicking CQB, I'd go for the EOTech. The Aimpoint, which is what is on my work rifle, is a very good all around defensive optic, but for close range and short time frame use I prefer the dot and circle combination of the EOTech over the single dot on the Aimpoint.

I prefer the Aimpoint for an all around sight as the battery life is much better and I can switch it on and forget about it, rather than the auto off function of the EOTech. On an entry rifle rig, being a short time usage, you don't have to worry about that happening.

Application is everything when choosing between the two.

Re: aimpoint or eotech

Agree aplication is everything, but I still lean toward the aimpoint most of the time. Comp2 2moa with 2x magnifier built on. I can stretch the distance and shoot it in the dark house in the three gun. When it is cqb practice, a little practice with either is going to help. At those distances a sight is just a reference. Knowing your weapon and how to use it what will save your ass. Personal preference, try both and decide as you are the one who will be using it. But I have had less problems with the sights turning off with the aimpoint. Even when my battery is low it still works!

EOTech.

Good timing too because if you decide on EOTech you can get an XPS for about $325 + shipping from Botach right now. Use the coupone 'eotech' at checkout at the bottom of the page for 20% off of their price then there's a $50 mail in rebate from L3 directly. In fact I just ordered another one for my M&P15-22. Overkill maybe but for the price it's tough to pass up and I want to keep my 22 the same as my AR15 for training purposes. Some will grumble about Botach but I've ordered thousands of dollars from them and haven't had an issue yet. Lucky perhaps but just be warned that they do have a bit of a bad rep floating around the internets even though I personally have used them dozens of times over the years w/o an issue. Just good prices and good service for me.

This is an opinion based discussion which you will find lots of discussion about if you search but that's my opinion on the topic.

Probably the best advice here. You'll get fanbois from either side of the fence who will say the other one is garbage even though they're both great options and have very minor differences which are all like/dislike so only you can know what it is that you like. With the EOTech deal I posted you can buy one, try it out first hand and if you don't like it sell it used to get your money back. It's like a free rental/trial and you may even get to make a few bucks reselling it based on used value once the rebate/discount are gone. Heck, buy them both and then sell whichever you don't like and you likely won't lose any money either way based on what the XPS can be had for right now.

Re: aimpoint or eotech

Im a fan of eotech...great system...very durable..also with the eotech if you feel comfortable with your form, you don't need the front site up to co-witness...which makes cqb 2 eyed shooting easier. As long as you have a consistant weld....But def agree that if you haven't shot with either..give em both a try.
