Going from 10,000 hours or run time to 50,000 was a big reason why I went with the ML3 over the ML2. I don't need NV capability, hence why I didn't go with an M3 either.
But boy, not having to change a battery for 5 years was a big plus, and that's when the optic is left on setting 7 of 10!

Yep. Aside from the battery life, they're basically identical. Physical size is the same, waterproof depth is the same (I believe, too tired to check right now), etc., etc.
