Air Gun Picture Thread

One Simply Does Not Buy One Air Rifle.jpg

You guys know I like old guns, no different with air guns. I think if it was made today it would sell.

My First BB gun! Got it for Xmass on my birthday in 1967'. Mine had the wood stock but it was identical otherwise. I used to spend my entire allowance on BB's for years. I shot 10's of thousands of BB's through it while I ruled the neighborhood woods. I was a skinny little kid at that age, I had t cock it by putting all my weight on the stock to compress the barrel. I even still have a scar on my foot where I shot myself through my sneaker cocking it on my foot! It's still in the safe and comes out for a nostalgic trip to childhood now and then.

I sold three airguns last weekend so I bought two more, lol. This is one of them.

Just a while ago today I took the first shots out of my new Skout EVO 22 cal. It has the 1 in 15.75" barrel for long slugs. I tried the Altaros 32.3gr and 40gr King in the 55 fpe area which is the factory setting it came in. Both shot about the same and pretty good too considering the gusts of up to 12 mph. Man the trigger is set at only 2oz!!! Ergos fit me well and I like the firing cycle feel.

Only the beginning so I'll fine tune to the required sub 50 fpe limit for a upcoming match in the next two weeks. Hoping to use it in the next FullMonty UFT 72 round match in Phoenix at the end of this month, which is the main reason I got this EVO.

It uses old school leather seals, lube her up well and let it sit for a while, within reason there is no such thing as too much oil, and with it being leather Dino oil is great.

I used to shoot air rifle competitively as a kid. I still shoot my old crosman challenger 2000 a fair amount for 4 positional practice. After stumbling across the thread I can see now you all just opened a can of worms that is going to cost me some money..... A lot more money..🫣

It beats spending it on adult beverages and clothing optional recreational pursuits in the company of lewd women with questionable reputations.

My latest affection in .22 caliber and planning on another one in .30 or .35.

I posted pics in other threads but neglected this one.
My new-ish Skout EVO in 22 cal having the 15.75 twist LW barrel and using Altaros 32.2gr slugs. I have tuned down to 49 fpe/828 fps for a Ultimate Field Target match and in a division called the FullMonty which requires sub 50 fpe.

It shoots quite well and pretty much 1" at 100Y. This gun has not been without it's problems but there is so much to like about it that I'm keeping it.
Trigger is set to single stage at 2oz.
Weighs 13 pounds with scope.
Great Ergos and balances in the middle of the gun.
Amazingly smooth and soft feeling shot cycle that feels like a 30 fpe gun and very light feeling lever actuation because there is no spring to cock back against.
30 round mag.
Has lights on grip that show if the gun is on safe/blue, needs to be cocked/yellow, ready to fire/red.

Was out playing with the ghost today...only to find that there was no breech seal in the rifle. Still did some shooting, and honestly a few did show potential. Waiting for tomorrow for the correct seal and I will try again. Hoping this will allow the gun to shoot slugs, if not I may be moving it for something else.

Should have just gone with the Epic Two instead....still kicking myself for that.
