Aircraft ID Help

[nashlaw]

I watched "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" a couple of nights ago. Could someone offer some help on the designation of the various aircraft? I have never been around planes and helicopters much and I was especially wondering about the rescue helicopters.

The planes are F-9 Panthers. I don't know about the helicopters. Probably built by Ryan.
Been a while since I've watched it.

I believe these were featured in the film:

Sikorsky H-5, HO3S-1 helicopter

Naw, that's a Squid Airdale, I was a Coastie, and was born one month later, in Nov 1950........

They were Sikorsky H-5, HO3S-1 helicopters and correct for the time period.

I used to see the variations on the F100 and one of thevariations looked like the F9 panther and the F9 Cougar...
The F101 Voodoo....

GOt a chance to sit in an F9 down in the museum in Charleston when I went - have to put a pic up - the cockpit felt natural - seems everything fit me just right....would love to have flown one of those..
