ALERT FOR TEXAS: (D) HB-196 seeks to remove Castle Doctrine and criminalize homeowners who use firearms against home invaders.

These bills will never get close to a vote. Dallas is the city with no real identity other than killing JFK. They are always trying to be like some other city. The bad part is they want to be like other liberal cities. "Life to short to live in Dallas" is a motto lots of folks agree with.

I chortle in the direction of this state "rep"...and I use the term "rep" lightly...

Dallas women have a reputation for being from the 7th level of Hell at a minimum....

Wait, isnt this the same state where its totally ok to shoot someone committing a crime at night?
Yeah, that laws been on the books since the 1800's when horse theft was most common at night, especially by Indians, although I doubt if you shot a horse thief during the day you would have gotten in that much trouble, most likely an atta boy.

That’s funny
Grew up just north of Dallas. Use to drive to Bossier City to find gals that knew how to have fun
That was in the 70’s
Don’t know if it’s changed or not

Introduced on November 9, 2020 by State Representative Terry Meza (D) - District 105, House Bill 196 seeks to remove Castle Doctrine and make it ILLEGAL for homeowners to use a firearm to stop a person in the process of breaking into their homes. The vaguely worded bill suggests that you can "still defend yourself against a burglar", but the use of firearms and lethal force would only be permitted if the homeowner is unable to effectively retreat, thus this bill seeks to turn Texas into a "duty to retreat" state. HB-196 is just one of many bills filed by Meza that would also greatly limit the amount of resources law enforcement can deploy to subdue violent subjects in the act of committing a crime, making certain legal firearm transfers illegal, invoking Red Flag laws, and cutting down on the number of public places where people can conceal carry handguns. The page below will show a package of relatively sneaky antigun bills all filed under Meza that will be heading to the Texas House of Representatives for further action.
