Alpha Mag question?

Wondering if the Alpha type 2 magazines will work without issues in a rifle without modified feed ramps if one is using normal length cartridges? i.e. 10-round Alpha type 2 in a GAP Templar/Badger M5 using FGMM 308 175-gr SMK?

Anyone with experieance with this issue?

Assuming your using remington 700? I have been wondering same thing after reading feed ramp needs to be modified per alpha industries website.

With regard to M700 actions. 99% of the time, there will be no issue using AICS type magazines without the front filler plate. However, there is a risk of the rounds moving forward under recoil and they will caught under the feedramp and not feed into the action.

Doesn't happen often, but I've seen it happen enough, to know it can happen, usually at the worst time. You notch the feedramp for the 1% piece of mind or run mags with the filler plate.

I would notch the action if I were going to run the type 2's. However, there would be no need to mess with it when shooting 175 FGMM; just get the type 1's.
