I've done a search and can't find a deffinate answer.

Can you run the type 2 mags with factory ammo in a Rem 700 without any feed ramp mods? Or will the round work forward and catch under the feed ramp?

I don't reload at this time and don't really want to get two different mags if the type 2 will work without any feed ramp mods.

Thanks KNIGHT

Kind of what I had gathered but wanted a deffinate answer before I ordered. I run factory ammo lengths right now and a buddy is running .243 at 2.890 so I wanted to make sure I ordered the right ones.

Re: Alpha type 2 ?

LawnMM nailed it. I have been running 2 type 2 mags for about a year now. Can't begin to tell you how many points I have lost due to the round jamming up under thr feed ramp. If you do not need the length do not buy type 2 mags. Also if you take one apart to clean the spring only supports the back 1/2 of the follower. Going back to AI mags.

Re: Alpha type 2 ?

I have 2 Alpha Type 1 magazines for sale for $110.00 shipped to your door for anyone interested. They are brand new, in that I haven't had them in the rifle and fired. I have loaded the mags up and cycled them. One mag has only been inserted 1 time.
