Alternative to NV/EFR rail?

Hey guys so I have a KMW Sentinel stock, but it does not have the inlet for a NV rail.
I want to use the rail as a place to put forward pressure on the rifle with my hand, when shooting from awkward positions during comps.
So, I just wanted to see if there were any alternatives that you guys are using that’s less “permanent” before I go drilling into my stock. Thanks

Seems like an expensive solution if you don't have and don't plan on getting a CNVD. Try grip tape?

That’s what I’m currently doing, but wanted to see if there was a way to accomplish the above without paying for an nvr.

Looks like you just want a thumb over bore grip. The cheap redneck in me says grab some Schedule 40 PVC with an ID on your stock’s forend width. Heat the pvc to mold it to your stock’s forend shape. Drill four pilot holes through pvc/stock, place anchors in with epoxy, then bolt in screws with locktite and cover the pvc with grip tape.

Cheap, effective, and it might actually work.

My advice, ditch the sentinel for something better suited for comps. That aggressive and tall hump on the bottom of the forend and how far forward it extends from the magwell is not a good design for shooting off of barricades and the like. Something flat or with a minimal slope to the magazine is much better suited for riding a bag on the balance point.

Get the rifle on the balance point with a proper chassis and you’ll only need enough pressure out front to drive the rifle a little. That sentinel will require you to work against yourself because of how it has to ride a bag forward of the balance point.

I can, but it isn’t real wide in that area. I think I’m gonna try the QD socket idea and maybe bend the ring a bit so it doesn’t flop around and use it as a sort of thumb shelf type deal.

The Magpul QD Paraclip looks like it stays in position. Maybe that would offer the best function.

Embarrasing to admit, but i always thought putting a short stubby vertical grip out on the side at a 90 degree angle on a pic rail would work well for that purpose. I was planning on experimenting around with that idea for barricades. Sounds dumb but i can get real bored...
