i bought a remington enhanced 1911 a few months ago. we had some feeding issues at first, but we figured it was because of the factory reloads we were shooting, 2nd amendment ammunition in oakmont pa. it was the only ammo they had at the time, plus it was only $20. i bought 4 boxes. so we just attributed the feeding issues to the reloaded ammo (brass case, lead round nose).
last week, i came across some blazer aluminum cased ammo and snagged 6 boxes of that.
on saturday. 7-27, we ran 300 rounds of the blazer aluminum cased, jacketed round nose ammo thru it with out a problem.
we were also using remington brass cased jacketed round nose ammo. out of the 200 rounds of that, we had 10 rounds that hung up going into the chamber. a quick tap with the palm of the hand fixed that, but still...
we alternated between the 2 different brands, not on purpose, just whatever box we grabbed out of the bag at the time.
any thoughts of why the aluminum worked better than the brass?
