I think USO is the closest you'll find. I believe the only import in them is the glass, everything else is made in house.

I would seriously doubt that a company that uses so many outsourced parts on they're products that they cannot even carry the "made in the USA" stamp, that they would do a 100% about face on their MK4's. I don't know this for certain, it would just stand to reason.

Not if it was garbage. There are a ton of great scopes on the market to choose from. I like to buy US made but, until the US can manufacture massive quantities of supply X or Y for as little as the other countries, you are going to see outsourcing. You don't have to like it, it is the way it is. Quality is another thing...of which Leupold doesn't do so well any longer. USO does come the closest and I own an ST-10. It is a wonderful scope, but there are others that are arguably better in certain areas. USO, Nightforce (F1), and PH are great examples of "American Made" scopes. Try a bunch, buy a couple, settle into what you like. I don't care where it was made if it runs like crap.

Yep. Someday a manufacturer may recognize that an all american made scope down to the last screw will attract a lot of people to that particular scope. When that happens, I hope they concentrate on making that scope as one of the finest available. How bout that Redfield/Leupold? Fail? Probably.

Its enough. Just saying it would be cool if Team America could pull it all together. Personally, quality over origin has driven all my purchases.

Sometimes the origin dictates the quality...
I feel ya though, I do like to buy from American companies who use American parts though. It's getting harder to find though, it's hard for an American company to stay in business against competition that outsources.

Just take a quick look at Redwing Shoes, they have models made in the US, made in the US with imported materials, etc.
It sure would be nice to see glass made in the US but very improbable.

Not trying to be contentious, but where did the steel in your guns originate from? Not saying, yea or nay, but....
$25 Billion in steel imports into the US in 2007 alone.
Hard to escape the world economy anymore.......

The recent MK4's are noted as made in the USA on the box. I'd be willing to bet the MK4's have more US parts than any other!

That is a good point,Bobinnc. I "hope"all my guns were made with American steel,lol. Pretty sure my 1926 Win Model 12 is. And my
1940's era Win mod's 72 & 75's, probably some of my 60's & 70's made guns.Hmmmm, now you have me wondering about my M1A and 5R!

Problems arise when one attaches patriotism to inanimate objects. I work in the construction industry and I could not tell you where all of my tools were made. I don't buy them for that reason. I buy them because they are the right tool for the job. I remember a decade back when US made and import products were on the same shelf. If you wanted to spend more, you could buy the "Made in USA." Today, that option is rare. It would be "nice" if such products were available just like it would be nice if I had more hair, weighed 20 pounds less and still had consistent work
The point is, this ain't reality. It's all well and good to go down memory lane, but the global economy we live in today is not going to change with our wishing. Give it time. One day, local made products will be not only available but probably will be the only option. Then, we may well look back to the "good old days" when we could get high quality, imported products
