OK... So I haven't had a .308 of any kind in quite some time, and I just picked up an M1A Scout. (my first of this particular platform)
For those of you who may have experience with these rifles... What types off ammo typically preforms well in them?
I'll be needing to pick myself up some .308 now that I need to support that caliber again.

Obligatory photo is from the for sale post... so no changes made yet.
(Surefire Warcomp on order so I can mount my suppressor)

No offense... but isn't that a SOCOM ? Different gas cylinder lock is used on the SOCOM... the OEM thread pitch is a odd ball size.

FGMM 168gr has been a "standard" for 308's for a long time.

Hornady 155gr Amer. Gunner shoots quite well for me as well.

Don't forget to ask over at www.m14forum.com .... lots of M1A info...

I am not sure of the thread pitch on the Scouts muzzle... and you might need a "adaptor" Smith Enterprise's sells a few different "lengths.

Guy I got it from has the thread adapter on it, and an adjustable gas block. It probably is the SOCOM rather than the Scout after reading up on it some as it has the 16" barrel rather than the 18", but this is how I got it... and what he called it. I will have a look-see over at the m14 forum.
