And.... Venezuela is completely fucked.

But the elites are eating steak, drinking fine Chilean Wine and living it up in hotels with generators, working kitchens... oh and walls with armed guards.

Four legs good, two legs better, I guess!

Socialism. What a hootenanny!

Cheers,

Sirhr

It is way past time for the residents of that country to cry "Nika!", and this time go right for the palace and the docks instead of remaining in the chariot racing stadium...

This shit is getting old, and starting to become unbearable for outsiders who are watching events keep unfolding.

stop watching then , its easy flip to another non news channel and watch the commercials you pay for , or put on a nice old western and veg out yea for vegging out once in a while just you a movie and no commercials . I really don't ever remember asking my cable company for extra commercials but now its 5 min of show and 35 min of adds .

Not watching a problem does not make the problem go away.

It serves as education for those of us who are not inhabiting socialist shitholes and also serves as a constant reminder of what we are fighting to prevent. It also allows us to study how the beast runs, so to speak.

In the meantime, once the tired, hungry and oppressed citizens of that country decides that they have had enough and it is time to raise the black flag of no quarter, they should know that we got their backs.

the really cool part is:

they make the mess in their country

thats agreed upon with dems and repubs...

they then come here to be saved and create a better life...i understand i would to if my country was a shit hole

when they get here they dems want to let them vote immediately....

arent these the same people that screwed up their country...

why are we pushing them to vote....did they become "smarter" during the 4 week walk

im confused

that is keeping legality and personal beliefs aside

We have a chance to clean that place up, kick the fucking communist/socialist Russians and Chinese out of our part of the world again and really build a partner that actually has natural resources that would benefit us. Wouldn't take much to do it.

However, we are not of a mind for that kind of DA any longer.

Therefore, we will do what we always do...fuck things up even more and end up giving them everything and getting nothing.

Could make a heck of a colony! Sort of like our own Australia... send the prisoners and let them pump the oil for 2 dollars a day!

Our own little Devils Island, but with roughnecks!

I like it! Especially if we kind of make it a free-fire-zone Disneyland. You know.... for hunting!

Cheers,

Sirhr

Yeah... we already did that from the 1950s to the 1970s. Tens of billions of dollars. I grew up in the city that was "ground zero" of all that. Multiple U.S. (and other countries) companies invested HEAVILY there. And, now it's a shambles. Literally. The aluminum plant my dad worked in (built by Reynolds Aluminum) is a rusted shambles. Literally. It used to be the largest producer of low-cost aluminum in the world.

I would not expect U.S. companies to be eager to effectively "start over" with additional billions after having been burned once.

We WERE partners, until the people voted in a communist who seized all major private industries and then ran them into the ground. Both figuratively and literally.... into the ground.

I don't see investors making that mistake again. Not for a VERY long time, if ever.

You are way better informed than I am due to your past. It is a shame as the country has lots to offer. Besides the natural oil and mineral resources, Venezuela has some of the most attractive women on the planet.

While I can't fault them for wanting to make a better life for themselves and their families, I do fault the Venezuelan people for falling for the crap that got them into this mess in the first place. The world has had about 100 years of lessons why socialism doesn't and can not work. In a way its only human, people gravitate towards something, an idea, or whatever it is, if that idea/path sounds and more importantly feels appealing. I'm going to get free stuff, cool. Someone wants to offer a wage increase, sign me up. People rarely think about the consequences until its too late. Think pleasure island from Pinocchio. We are similar in this country every 4 years, just not as bad,,,,,,,,,,, yet.

The consequences of their voting has now come home to roost. I have no doubt that the extreme majority of people down there fully regrets the mistake they made. Unfortunately they are without any way to rectify it, they allowed themselves to become disarmed for the children and "muh feels" and now at the mercy of their elite rich rulers. But good news for them, since our last administration was gun running to drug cartels in Mexico a precedent was set, we should do the same for Venezuela. Air lift food and arms to the people and let them take their country back. Once fuck face and everyone associated with him are dead we could help rebuild the infrastructure and government, hopefully getting them back on their feet and their backs to utopian socialism. Even better if we gain an ally in South America its a win win for both countries.

did all the drilling mud make it into the water table?

or is it sabotage?
My guess would be head pressure in the sewer lines built up in the GRIT area at the sewer treatment plant due to the lack of power in the plant.
That black water is just the liquid from the raw sewage.
Getting their plants back online is going to be labor intensive and expensive.
So as the thread title states they truly are fucked because there is no easy or cheap fix.
