And we're off on another Battlefield adventure...

Should I polish my wooden-bead seat cover, madarchodji?

I was going to comment on that... because you are the last person in the world who would have one of those in your Superduty. You're more redneck than I am. And that's a compliment!

Anyone who thinks you have a beaded seat cover, one of those crown air fresheners and "Jingly-truck" accouterments on your rig... has no idea who they are dealing with!

And as if I didn't have enough going on... some friends from the Oxford conference just invited me on a battlefield archaeology expedition/trip to Monte Cassino in Italy next May. Will be one of the first serious undertakings there. Two weeks.

Very tempting.... No motorcycles involved. Unless I unearth one, I guess. There must be a Zundapp buried there somewhere!

Guess I am going to need an Indiana Jones hat...

Too late, man. I already arranged transportation!

Home Sweet Home.... My own coffee mug... a real bed (not one of those army cots with the sleeping bag on top of you that Euro-types seem to love (no wonder they're all so second-rate.)

Pouncey the cat had my pipe and slippers waiting at the door... and Busenhalter-6 took me for hot wings (no spicy food in 3 weeks... was beginning to suck.)

Another trip in the memory banks!

Cheers,

I think it’s awsome that you get out and do these trips amigo. At the end of the day experience is the only thing we get to take with us when this rodeo is over.

So... it's going to be off to Italy in May for an archaeological expedition.

This means that the Trans-Lab motorcycle trip is going to be in fall, 2019. Which will work well.

More to follow. Armyjerry and I will be on it for sure. (Right, Army???) Open to more if you have the right bike and attitude.

Cheers,

When and where....perhaps a ride-by to taunt you in Italy in May
I should have the Omega charging system in the PD by 2019.

So Italy in May is confirmed.... so the Trans-Lab ride will be right after Labor Day. About a 2 week run.

Hope your idea of camping is a Holiday Inn. Because I've done enough nights in tents. Prefer a Hilton or Ritz. But will camp in Holiday Inn if necessary.

I'll start a PM list to begin coordinating. SH denizens encouraged to attend.

Cheers,

So after 7 years and 40,000 km around Europe, British Isles, Scandinavia, Faroe Islands and Iceland... the Dakar is home. The Icelandic dirt (volcanic ash, very alkakai) and the salt air have not done her any favors... so it's dropped off at a detailing guy who is going to give instant (and major attention) to cleaning everything up.

And get ready for 2019... Ready @ArmyJerry ? Gonna be Portland, Maine, up to Nova Scotia by ferry. Then up the West Coast of Nova Scotia to Cape Breton, Ferry to Newfoundland, through the Wreckhouse and around Newfoundland. And across by ferry to Labrador for the trans-Labrador Highway. Across the Trans-lab to Labrador-City and then on to Manic-5. Then down to Quebec City to have a visit with the "Vin-Doo's" and dinner at Chateau Frontenac. One day from there home to Vermont-i-stan... where we will fire cannons and toast 'Merika at Camelot.... wait, Schloss Nitrocellulose!

Those worthy to join the quest may apply via PM... because this could be an epic trip. Thinking about starting Labor Day 2019... Takes about 10 days from Portland to VT... if we stop and smell the roses and do some battlefields. And there are some great sites to see!

Cheers,

Sirhr
