Gunsmithing anodizing

I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for anodizing things like scope mounts and upper and lower receivers etc. This would not be raw material but new, pre coated AL. So, it would need to be stripped.

What color anodize are you looking for? You will also want to be mindful in regards to what standard, class, and type of anodize you specify.

I am thinking OD green. I would think that would be as common as any.

Bear in mind standard anodizing is not tough. Think bright red/blue race car fittings from aeroquip.

Hard anodizing, like AR receivers, is much better, but adds about .0015" or more to add surfaces. Plus, I've found coaters to be very inconsistent on just how thick the coating comes out, making precision tolerances a real PITA to manage.
