Another 700 sps aac question. Sorry!!!!!!

Currently own a 700 sps aac and dad owns a sps tactical both with the 20"brls.

Noticed the muzzle crowns were different between the 2. Dads sps has a defined crown and my AAC is flat at the end. Is this because mine is meant to be used with a can? I have one on the way but just curious as to why and what effects this could have in the real world?

The thread protector gives you the off set required to protect the crown.
