Gunsmithing Another Bedding question

if I have a stock, that is bedded for a certain action, and decide to place another barreled action in that stock/w same recoil lug, and action, do I need to do anything, I would imagine if the barrel channel is diffrent I would have to open up. The new action should be able to slide right in right?

Wrong, you'll need to skim bed it.

May be just the opposite of what you think.
Lugs and screws dont alway line up.

Yes both right. You might not need to skim bed it but to be safe i would do it anyways.
