Hey all, hope everything is going great. I’ve lurked here for a while but finally made the(possibly drunken, maybe) decision to sign up. I will be resisting the urge to jump straight to the bear pit. I actually might have pulled the trigger on signing up after reading a bit of the “thank you president trump” thread. But I digress...

As my title says, I’m an anarchist who is also vehemently anti-war, gun nut, & a free(absolutely free) market advocate. I grew up in Hellinois but hopped around the country for a while and settled on CO after helping some friends move to Denver from southwest FL.

I grew up around guns but didn’t really catch “the bug” until my dad gave me one of his spare 1911’s several years ago. Now about all I do is cruise the interwebs soaking up gun porn/info. I have a R700 in 30/06 that I don’t get out enough, but I would love to change that.

Um, fuck me. I don’t know how I managed to get to the scope section from trying to post in the new member section. Mods, please move. Please, thank you, & sorry

I think you'll find out pretty quick that we take gun nutting to a whole new level here.

Sounds like you want to be a libertarian but just dont have the words for it. But we can work on that and get you to spend $7k on a rifle while we do it! Good luck!

Kai24- Don’t you worry, I’m the furthest thing from being Kalifornian that you could imagine

skookum- anarchy is not synonymous with chaos or violence. The only thing anarchy means is “without rulers”. My ideal is living according to the non-aggression principle and having an iron clad defense of private property rights and contracts

jackomason- I’ve certainly noticed the gun nuttery here, that’s why I’ve gravitated here. Libertarianism is, imo, the most well thought out idea of anarchism. I just can’t bring myself to join the libertarian party, it’s a total clusterfuck right now but is showing some real promise lately. And, I have enough gun plans, of all types, swirling around my head. I just need to win that pesky lottery

Just stay the eff outta Wyoming. We hate guns.
You’re not fooling me you little bastard, I know what goes down in WY

My wife and I have started discussing leaving the Denver area at some point and WY, MT, & ID are all possibilities. Don’t worry though, I’m the unlikely event I get involved in local politics I will only be voting for less laws and more liberties for everyone

Yes, I know what it is. The only way to be a successful anarchist is to live some place devoid of other people.

A man might make a successful anarchist...if he is by himself.

Eh, no. Anarchism is a group of people interacting voluntarily. Nothing more, nothing less

How does an Anarchist view a Republic operating under a Constitution?

Anarchy to me seems to mean each individual his own Republic and if the Constitution you operate under conflicts with another than "Fuck You!"

Anarchy is what Democracy devolves into which than brings about a herd call for oppressive government.

Just curious, Libertarian I understand - enjoy your freedom but never impede on the freedom of another - anarchy though?

    Your 1911? Colt?

Your R700? Whats the SN prefix? Classic wood, element busting synthetic or some form of precision stock?

Just in case someone responds before I get done with my rambling, this is in response to pmclaine

    - I have no problem with constitutional republics in and of themselves. I actually would really like it if everyone in d.c. would brush up on what the constitution means and start dissolving all of the unconstitutional departments and programs.

    - The individual republic is a good way to view anarchism. The problem I always see is the next step in reasoning is always just what you said, “If there’s a conflict then fuck you”. Nobody ever(or very very rarely) acts like this in the real world in their day-to-day lives. If there is a conflict, violence is rarely the answer. You come to a mutual agreement about a solution that is beneficial for both parties.

    - Unfortunately this is all too often the case, but it doesn’t have to be. A few great examples of the difference of ideals in a given area are; the differences between North and South Korea. And the differences between Botswana and Zimbabwe. These are two examples of devolution to tyranny and complete poverty on one side of an imaginary line and on the other side people having more liberty to pursue their own interests. And lo and behold, in Botswana and South Korea the standard of living is infinitely better than their counterparts. I think it would be interesting if both of those places kept loosening restrictions and privatizing any .gov programs to see how much the populations could flourish.

    - The modern Libertarian movement was advanced in large part by Murray Rotheard who was both an incredible historian and economist and was also as hardcore anti-state as anyone ever was. He has written thousands of pages on those subjects and laid out all the arguments and counter arguments. I highly recommend any of his works

Whew, I hope those are coherent enough to follow. I definitely do not pretend to be a good writer or be able to convey my thoughts and arguments in a clear and concise manner. And now I can answer pmclaine’s gun questions, something that’s a lot easier to do

None of my guns are really special, they serve their purpose without any pomp and circumstance. I would like to change that about a few of them and add a few really nice pieces to my collection at some point though

My 1911 is just a 5” Rock Island that my dad gave me. He got a smoking deal on another 1911(he now has 5, I think) from the family of someone in our area who passed away so he gave me one. I probably won’t really do much to this because I would like to build my own 9mm 2011 from an 80% sti style receiver, but that’s a project for a much later date

My 700 is a synthetic stock adl that is still completely stock. I bought a triggertech from eurooptic on Black Friday but I haven’t installed it yet. I think my plan for this is to remage it and put it in a grs bifrost or berserk for hunting and for my boys to use.

I only really have plans for one more bolt gun, but it’s a doozy. I have this grand vision of an ARC Mausingfield completely tricked out with at least 3 of the bolt heads to run as a switchbarrel setup and installed in an as-yet-undetermined chassis. I like to build things myself if I can and would like to be able to do everything with this gun.

Speaking of building things... The next gun I have is a Polymer80 subcompact frame that I put G27 parts on then bought a 9mm conversion barrel for. This is my carry gun and I swap from .40 to 9mm when the weather or my mood changes

Lets see, what’s next. I have a dpms ar-15 that I’d like to get a .224 Valkyrie upper for. I’ve got a savage shotgun that I rarely shoot, shotguns aren’t my thing. I’ve got a .22 magnum bolt action that I don’t shoot enough. That one will be the first thing my boys shoot. I’ve got a Rossi .38spl revolver that a former roommate left behind that I rarely shoot.

Man, what a random, rambling post. I hope this isn’t too scatter brained to follow

Where would you place Antifa in your spectrum of Anarchy? They certainly are fond of the Anarchists symbol.....

Your guns are solid. Gun snobs will turn their snobby noses but those guns will do what they are designed to do. I talked a friend into buying a .308 ADL and we have it in a 60s era BDL stock now and the thing shoots fantastic.

I have a great deal on 30-06 FGMM. I've bought ten cases over the last six months from the seller. $185/case shipped. If interested I'll pm the contact or you can go over to the CMP forums and find it yourself in the ammo for sale area.

I would place antifa at the opposite end of the spectrum as me. All those confused pricks want is for the state to force everyone to fall in line with them, which is the exact opposite of anarchism. Anybody screaming to .gov to stop tyranny is, uh, a little misguided. And fucking retarded
