Re: Another Muzzle Brake ?

Small bore I think you would be better off just putting a can on it

You will still get the supersonic crack, however the recoil should be reduced and it wont be as loud.

Is the recoil really an issue for you?

What about putting it all in a heavy stock?

Re: Another Muzzle Brake ?

There's no issue with recoil. The rig's pretty heavy too. Just trying to squeeze every drop of accuracy out of it. Although, another benefit of moving here from NY is that a can is legal here. I'm assuming it's the same amout of work to install one.

I can break the rifle down to just the barrel and action myself in a few minutes. About how much should I expect to pay to have the barrel threaded?

Re: Another Muzzle Brake ?

Accuracy doesnt result from having a muzzle brake... and in fact it may change harmonics and your point of impact may shift.

Threading the barrel is no issue and you can have end caps made to cover the threads.

I recommend a can over a muzzle brake for your .17.

A can makes sense, somewhat... a muzzle brake to me, makes no sense
