Hello all
New to precision rifle shooting . I have been here for a little while now reading alot and get overwhelmed at the knowledge base that is here . My rifle that I own and will be using to get into this sport is an FN PBR in .308 20" factory barrel . I originally had the rifle in a mcmillan stock but i never felt really comfortable behind it . I am currently waiting for my XLR chassis to arrive in the next 3 weeks or so . Optic on the rifle is a SS 10x42 with side focus as that was the best glass i could afford at the time . Currently saving my pennies for a nightforce but its a ways off . Just thought i would say hi . And ask what is everyones opinion on my setup . Would like to add anyone near west palm beach that would be interested in helping a new guy out with some basic instruction and observations of how i drive my rifle .

Thanks
Dennis

Welcome to the hide. Your rig sounds great. It isn't always about the high end stuff, the shooter is one key role in long distance shooting. Just get out there and put some down range, and enjoy it.

Re: Another newb .

Sounds good, I bought an FN SPR A1 and run a SAS .30 can on it. Trying to figure out what glass I want to go with as the bushnell thats on it now just isn't up to snuff. Sure would love the NF but think I ought to spend the money on ammo and good shooting time. Not many places out here in BFE to even look through good glass. Sure would like to look through before I throw 1k+ at something I've never looked through. I like the feel of McMillans but to each their own. Good luck!

Welcome to the hide. Sounds to me like you have a pretty good setup. There are a few things you could change but hey, i understand how tight money can be and when building a tack driver it gets very expensive. Good on you for moving to something that fit u instead of jumping on the bandwagon with what everyone else likes. Also a smart idea on saving for the nightforce. Most of everyone here will be most helpful with helping you along with any questions you may have.

NP-r1 is great for me.
You can also learn by watching others shoot yours.

Just sayin. </div></div>that is the exact scope i was looking at . A friend owns one and have had the chance to shoot his savage a few times really like the nightforce
