Another Remington 700 AAC-SD thread

I recently purchased a second Remington 700 AAC-SD(sold my first to fund my GAP Crusader) The first was a hammer and a close friend has it now. Anyway, trying to keep this low budget for a hunting rig. I have a Crusader and an IBA M-40 for tactical stuff and LR.
On with the story, I bought a tactical break from Jacob Kunsky. I used 400 grit sandpaper and timed it myself. off to the range I went today, only had time to fire ten rounds. First shot was one inch righ half inch low. Made my adjustments. I next fired three, three shot groups(I know should have been at least five shots).
First off the break was amazing, felt recoil is gone!
Two groups were sub half moa and the third was .194 ctc.
I'd call bs myself but I was there. Anybody on the fence about one of these rifles,BUY it. Anybody on the fence about a RWS break or a Jacob Kunsky break GET IT. Almost forgot ammo was 168 FGMM.

Sounds like a shooter. I love mine. Very good gun once you get it in a decent stock. I just put an MRAD brake on mine. Very excited to shoot it with the brake.

How did you keep the muzzle square while you sanded it down? I have to time mine almost 330 degrees or so.

Yea, and that was in the hogue stock. I did free float it with a dremel, but it's the stock is the weak link on that rifle.
I had to go about 300 degrees on my rifle. I just laid the sandpaper down flat and moved the break in circular motion. I also turned the break in my hand ever now an then. I installed two of these and they both turned out great. It looks much better than a washer. I had it very even, when I tightened it down it was touching the barrel all the way around.

I can not beleive you got that kind of accuracy from that crappy Hogue. Mine was terrible...loved the barreled action, hate the stock. Are you planning on re-stocking it?

I couldn't be happier with my 700 AAC-SD. I hated the Hogue so I went with the AICS. The PWS brake I use works great. I could see my impacts past 300yds and the recoil is the same as my 300 Whisper with ss loads.

I am interested in this rifle too. What can you say about the quality and the average accuracy? Would you take this rifle over a Howa or Tikka? What do you think about the Bell and Carlson Light Tactical stock for this rifle? Does it fit without any changes? What kind of metal finish does this rifle have?

I got my break from Jacob kunsky. The info is on the accessories for sale page under "3 breaks for sale" or contact him at [email protected]. I definitely plan to restock. I plan to get the bell and Carlson light tactical to keep it light for all purpose. The finish is isn't anything to write home about. Hardly anything more than a thick matte finish black paint. I've had two and both were the most accurate out of the box rifles I've ever had. Best bang for your buck.

The light Tactical should bolt right on, if not something's wrong, it isn't a heavy stock, but its not as light as the name might lead you to believe.
The finish on the rifle is not paint. It is matte bluing, the difference between it and regular bluing is the surface of the metal is blasted so it is rough. It offers almost zero corrosion resistance, and seems to be worse than traditional bluing bluing, which I credit to the texture holding moisture, salts, and other corrosives better than a smooth surface.
